Founded in 1973, The Tallis Scholars, have established themselves as the leading exponents of sacred Renaissance music in the world. They perform at Portsmouth Cathedral from 8:00pm ‘til 10:00pm on Friday 22nd June.
Director, Peter Phillips, has worked with the ensemble to create a sound which best serves the Renaissance repertoire. It is for this purity and clarity of sound that The Tallis Scholars have become so widely renowned.
This evening will include pieces by Byrd, Gibbons, Tavener, and Britten. The Portsmouth Grammar School Chamber Choir will also be joining in with The Tallis Scholars during parts of the performance.
Tickets are £17.00, or £15.00 for seniors (aged 60+), students (with valid ID), and children (aged 15 years or under).

From Friday 15th to Sunday 24th June 2018, Portsmouth Festivities host a ten-day programme of artistic and cultural events. This year, Portsmouth Festivities celebrates the theme of ‘FREEDOM’, marking the centenary of women’s suffrage and the 100th birthday of Nelson Mandela.
