‘The Killing of a Sacred Deer’

No. 6 Cinema, Portsmouth’s only independent filmhouse, screen 2017 psychological horror film The Killing of a Sacred Deer on Friday 15th December 2017, from 7:00pm.

Steven Murphy is a renowned cardiovascular surgeon presiding over a spotless household with his ophthalmologist wife Anna and their two exemplary children.

Lurking at the margins of his idyllic suburban existence is Martin, a fatherless teen who Steven has covertly taken under his wing.

As Martin begins insinuating himself into the family, the full scope of his intent becomes menacingly clear.

Preceding the main feature, No. 6 Cinema are showing the short film Goathland. Directed by Pippa Young, two figures wander the desolate Yorkshire Moors building inflatable worlds around themselves in the colourful Goathland.
