Diane Atkinson is the author of Rise Up, Women! The Remarkable Lives of the Suffragettes. She has created a major exhibition on suffragettes at the Museum of London, appeared on many radio programmes — including Women's Hour — and consulted on television documentaries, as well as, most recently, the film Suffragette.
She presents a talk at the Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard from 7:30pm ‘til 9:00pm on Tuesday 19th June, as part of the programme for Portsmouth Festivities 2018.
Tickets are £10.00 for adults, or £8.00 for seniors (aged 60 and up), students (with ID), and children (aged 15 and under).

From Friday 15th to Sunday 24th June 2018, Portsmouth Festivities host a ten-day programme of artistic and cultural events. This year, Portsmouth Festivities celebrates the theme of ‘FREEDOM’, marking the centenary of women’s suffrage and the 100th birthday of Nelson Mandela. Events will explore ideas of creative freedom in a wide-ranging programme of music, theatre, talks, and film, and so much more.
