POSTPONED: Live at Southsea Bandstand: Great Scott and Choose 90s

The Live at the Bandstand events on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd June will no longer be going ahead following the two deaths at Mutiny Festival 2018 in Cosham. Councillor Steve Pitt, Portsmouth City Council's Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure, and Sport, said: "Unfortunately we have decided not to go ahead with this weekend's bandstand events. This was going to be the season's big event on Castle Field and following the tragic events at Mutiny Festival it was felt we would have to put extra measures in place to safely manage it and this wasn't practical at such short notice.

“I am fully aware that this will be a huge disappointment to people, but hope they can understand the decision under the circumstances. However as a result we are now planning a replacement Last Night of the Bandstand event to finish the season and will let everyone know details as soon as they are available.”

80s revival five-piece Great Scott and 90s covers band Choose 90s perform live at Southsea Bandstand from 1:00pm ‘til 4:00pm on Sunday 3rd June 2018.

Great Scott perform from 1:00pm ‘til 1:45pm, followed by Choose 90s between 2:00pm and 4:00pm.

Entry is 100% free.

This Southsea Bandstand event is presented by Portsmouth City Council and hosted by Nick Courtney.

Should adverse weather conditions arise, this Southsea Bandstand event will be relocated to South Parade Pier or another alternative venue. This will be announced by 10:30am on the day, via the Live at the Bandstand Facebook page.
