Portsmouth D-Day Museum
The D-Day Museum stands proud on Southsea seafront, and has as its centrepiece the remarkable Overlord Embroidery, commissioned by Lord Dulverton of Batsford as a tribute to the sacrifice and heroism of the men and women who took part in Operation Overlord. It’s a stunning 272ft-long piece — the largest of its kind in the world.
In the coming years, the D-Day Museum will be transformed through an ambitious rebuilding project, future-proofing the Normandy story for generations to come.
The D-Day Museum is currently closed due to refurbishment.
