Fireworks Displays in Portsmouth and Southsea 2018
Here’s a list our top picks for 2018 fireworks and bonfire night events in Portsmouth, Southsea, and wider Hampshire! More will be added as announced. Family favourites including Gunwharf Quays fireworks display, Cosham and IBM fireworks displays have all been announced.
Gunwharf Quays Fireworks Display
Thursday 8th November 2018
We’re looking forward to the return of the legendary fireworks extravaganza, in partnership with children’s charity Barnardo’s. The centre is asking those attending the free event to donate just 50p to help reach their fundraising target. Following the success of previous years, the event will return on Thursday 8th November.
Gunwharf Quays fireworks extravaganza will be hosted by Wave 105 and will feature live performances alongside a breath-taking waterfront fireworks display. In previous years the centre has welcomed appearances from acts including M.O., X Factor’s Matt Terry, JP Cooper, and former Girls Aloud star, Nadine Coyle. This year’s performances are set to be announced later this year.
The Barnardo’s bears will be in attendance entertaining the crowds between performances and encouraging visitors to donate and help local children living in poverty.
Guests are advised to arrive early to avoid disappointment and consider using public transport or the Park and Ride service. Shop are open until 9:00pm.
Cosham Fireworks (King George Playing Fields)
Wednesday 7th November 2018
Portsmouth City Council's annual bonfire and fireworks display, will take place at King George V playing fields, in Cosham, on Wednesday 7th November.
The free event will open at 4:00pm. There will be a children's funfair (under 12s only) as well as a variety of catering units.
The bonfire will be lit at 7:00pm, followed by a spectacular firework display at 7:30pm. The display, funded by Portsmouth City Council, always draws the crowds so please avoid driving if possible although parking is available at Lakeside North Harbour.
Palmerston Road, Southsea Fireworks and Christmas Light Switch On
Thursday 15th November 2018
Southsea fireworks and Christmas festivities light switch on event will take place on Thursday 15th November. The event commences at 4:00pm with Christmas light switch on at 6:00pm.
This year the event will include a short pyrotechnic display, which will go alongside the light switch on at 6:00pm.
The Love Southsea market event team will be on hand with a plethora of local stall holders, and there will be a childrens funfair.
HMS Sultan Fireworks Night
Thursday 25th October 2018
Join HMS Sultan for what promises to be a fun filled evening of entertainment at the HMS Sultan Bonfire & Fireworks Night 2018.
As well as a spectacular fireworks display there will also be entertainers including fire breathers and a funfair with rides before the big fireworks finale.
Gates open at 6:00pm, with the Bonfire lit at 7:15pm and the main display at 8:00pm. Gates will close at 10:30pm. Tickets: £15 (Family 2+2); £5 (Adults); £4 (children Under 14).
