The Love Southsea Market Celebrate 10th Year of Trading with All New Discovery Makers Market
The Love Southsea Market is pleased to announce their 10th year of trading, and will be celebrating all year at Gunwharf Quays Portsmouth with one of their most exciting market events to date.
The all new Discovery Makers Market will take place at various dates throughout the year. The last two markets at Gunwharf Quays have been welcomed with an overwhelmingly positive response.
Visiting one of the first summer market events, Stephen Morgen, MP for Portsmouth South, said: “It’s great to see a massive organisation like Gunwharf Quays and Land Sec supporting Portsmouth’s small independent businesses with the Love Southsea market.”
How are the Markets Empowering Its Traders?
Off the back of the exposure of the Gunwharf Quays market, local traders attending the new Discovery Markets have had fantastic success.
Sammie Venn, Director of Soul Warriors, who specialise in silver jewellery and ladies gifts, was picked up by shopping guru Gok Wan as a chosen retailer for his British Retail Travel Show.
Joanna Eastbury, Director of Spott & Herbert, who sell an array of beautiful products including hand made cards (100% recycled cotton rag with 10% going to Water Aid), handprinted T-shirts sweatshirts and bags, and stunning jewellery, has now got a collection running at Liberty London, Fortnum & Mason, Selfridges, and Paper Chase.
The market has also allowed local photographic artist Jamie Harknett of Southsea Studio to follow his dreams and travel more — collecting stunning images from around the globe. Since the markets started this year Jamie has travelled to Venice, Moscow, and Montenegro, gathering new shots to add to his photography portfolio to be featured at the Discovery Makers Market in 2019 and beyond.
This October half term will see the return of the market for a 10-day shopping bonanza at the south coasts premier shopping destination, Gunwharf Quays.

Expect to find one off screen-printed T-shirts, tote bags, gorgeous seasonal gifts, homewares, Bohemian to high-end silver jewellery, and much more to be announced. This October will also see a host of new traders attending.

Looking further ahead the team will return for a festive Christmas event at Gunwharf Quays everyday from Friday 29th November ‘till Sunday 8th December.
